Geological Compositing

The compositing system utilises the output from the CGSS blast design and/or survey software as the input hole co-ordinate list. These files contain the hole number, easting, northing and collar elevation data. Any other ASCII files that contain this data can also be used and the system will represent this data in an AutoCAD drawing as a series of colour coded symbols representing the actual hole locations. The holes can be augmented with assay data and lab results with Grade and rocktype information. The results can be colour coded by grade or rocktype and up to 4 samples per hole can be managed. Assay data can be viewed in plan, elevation or section and colour coded to user defined coding profiles.

Compositing can then be carried out over any combination of any of the 4 layers, and the results viewed in full 3D. Sections through the composite at any angle allows the user to slice up the composite for better comprehension of the data. Facemapping data and facemaps from the CGSS Facemap routines can be attached for face data interrogation if these modules are available. Any number of composite outlines can be evaluated and the results combined as required. The evaluation process comprises the simple task of drawing an AutoCAD polyline around an area of the blast. All AutoCAD polyline editing tools remain available and a toolkit of additional tools are also available. Evaluation will average out (straight arithmetic average accounting for nulls) the grades within the polyline and present the tonnage, average grade and composite number. Grades can be adjusted to a user adjusted grade, although the actual calculated grade remains available, unabridged. Evaluated composite data is placed on the drawing as a tag containing the information for that composite.

Composite outlines are exportable to any ASCII file and can then be uploaded to Total stations or Electronic theodolites for use in setting out the composite boundaries. Composite grade and tonnage data tags can also be exported to any other application or database.
